SOUPER BOWL OF CARING
Once again McGregor will commemorate the Souper Bowl of Caring on Super Bowl Sunday, February 8 with an offering of financial gifts and cans of chicken noodle soup, as well as a Soup and Salad Potluck!
The Souper Bowl of Caring is an opportunity to fight food insecurity through local hunger relief efforts. This year our Souper Bowl of Caring donations will go to our McGregor Snack Packs Program that provides food for the weekend for five local School District 5 schools. We invite you to donate financially and with cans of chicken noodle soup.
At the close of the Sunday, February 8 worship service, McGregor youth will collect financial donations with pots labeled with the Super Bowl team names. Simply place your donations in the pot with the name of the team you hope will win the Super Bowl. And you may place your cans of chicken noodle soup in the bin with your favorite team name to cheer your team on to victory!
Then we will celebrate with a Soup and Salad Potluck following the worship service. Please bring your favorite soup and/or salad to share. The Fellowship and Mission Committees will provide drinks and paper products.

LISTENING TO THE LIGHT
This is not a class, but a contemplative Zoom experience focusing on the light of Christ during the season of Epiphany. You can think of it as a six-week retreat you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home. We’ll meet on Tuesdays at 5:00 PM January 6-February 10, 2026. Using spiritual practices of silences, reflection, journaling, and faith-sharing, we will listen to the growing revelation of God-in-Christ. What was God saying in Jesus? What is God saying to us? Email Rev. Mary Beth Lawrence, facilitator, at law410me@outlook.com to register for the retreat and to receive the Zoom link.

THIS IS US!
The Education and Congregational Care Committees are excited to announce a new feature for our weekly E-Messenger which is designed to help us get to know each other better! Each week, beginning in October, we will highlight one individual/family and give a little information about them that you may not already know. Contact Jayne Woodward or Robin Moseley for the information form, which asks a few questions for you to answer about yourselves. Then you can email the form back to mcgpresadm@gmail.com or print it out and leave it in the church office. We will write the article using the information you provide. A copy of the article will be sent to you for approval before it is included in the newsletter. Questions? Contact Jayne Woodward (803) 730-5072, minniewoodward@aol.com or Robin Moseley (803) 730-7780, robin1030@bellsouth.net.
