Anonymous Disposal/Recycling of Unwanted Firearms

Saturday, September 26

10:30 AM – 12:30 PM:  Gun Disposal (Campus restricted to gun donors and authorized volunteers)

             Gun donors must remain in their car.

             Firearms must be unloaded, in working order, and stored in the trunk or back of vehicle.

            Gun donors will receive gift cards for donation, while they last.

            Firearms will be dismantled and cut up while the donor is present.

            Later the remaining metal will be used to create garden tools, art, and jewelry by Raw Tools South.

Congaree Riverkeeper

Bill Stangler, the Executive Director and your Congaree Riverkeeper since 2011, will be with us on Thursday, October 1, at 6:30 p.m. to provide information and answer your questions about the Congaree Riverkeeper.

Congaree Riverkeeper is a local nonprofit organization with the mission to protect and improve water quality, wildlife habitat, and recreation on the Congaree, Lower Saluda, and Broad Rivers through advocacy, education, and enforcement of environmental laws. Formed in 2008 following major sewer spills in the Lower Saluda River, Congaree Riverkeeper effectively monitors water quality conditions in our waterways, holds polluters accountable, and educates the public and lawmakers about the importance of keeping our waterways clean and healthy.

We hope you will join us for this informative presentation on a topic important to us all!

SNACK PACKS PROGRAM:  Each week during the school year we provide food for the weekend (snack packs) for children in 5 Lexington/Richland District 5 schools.  Join us each Sunday morning after the Worship Service to pack Snack Packs.  Thank you for your amazing support of this vital community outreach ministry.  Financial donations are always welcomed and much appreciated!

ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY DATES:  AUGUST 15, AND NOVEMBER 14  Join us at Nursery Road Elementary School far parking lot to pick up litter along Nursery Road, Nursery Hill Road, and Green Pines Road.  Gloves and closed toe shoes are recommended and a grabber stick may be useful.  Contact Linda Byars at byars133@bellsouth.net for more information.

LOVE REVOLUTION MEAL MINISTRY:  Join us every second Sunday afternoon at Seven Oaks Presbyterian Church to serve at the Love Revolution.  McGregor serves a meal on the second Sunday of each month to unhoused neighbors.  We are excited to add ShowerUp to the schedule, providing showers, toiletries, and washers/dryers for our clients.  This is the first time ShowerUp has come to South Carolina, and they are happy to expand their services in our area.  Come for some or all of the afternoon to serve our neighbors.  Contact Louise Carter at louisescarter23@gmail.com for more information.
