Caring for the McGregor faith community

We are committed to caring for each other at McGregor Presbyterian Church. Recognizing that health and well-being involve more than just our physical bodies, our congregational care ministry works to care for the whole person: body, mind, and soul. We minister to McGregor disciples and visitors of all ages and provide support for people in the midst of challenging life events and transitions.

Our congregational care group fosters relationships and responds to needs as they arise in our faith community. If you are interested in serving as part of this ministry, or you know of someone who could benefit from the care of one of these ministries, contact Sue Ishimori through the church office.

Our ministries include the following:

  • mcGREGOR meals

We provide meals for those facing challenges such as hospitalizations, illnesses, crises, and transitions.

  • visitor care

We welcome visitors and provide opportunities to learn about our faith community. We forge personal relationships with newcomers and help them find meaningful ways to connect through McGregor.

  • intercessory prayer

We believe in actively seeking God's healing and peace through prayer.  When we receive prayer requests, volunteers pray for the needs of our congregation and community.  Prayer requests are kept confidential within our group of praying individuals.

  • card ministries

Ministry volunteers send cards offering congratulations, consolation, or support, as needed.  Our homebound card ministry reaches out to McGregor friends who are not able to join us in person.

  • prayer shawl ministry

A group of dedicated individuals knit or crochet prayer shawls which are then blessed and given to McGregor friends going through a difficult time.

  • stephen ministry

We offer high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. We meet one on one to provide support. Our Stephen Ministers undergo thorough training to serve in this capacity.
