Sunday School
Sunday School classes for all ages at 9:30 AM
(September - May)
There are two adult Sunday School classes offered (The Present Word and Contemporary Issues) as well as a Children's Sunday School class and a Youth Sunday School class.
NEW BOOK FOR CONTEMPORARY SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS
The
Contemporary Issues Sunday School class will begin a new book: Church of the Wild: How Nature Invites Us into the Sacred by
Victoria Loorz. You do not need to buy
the book. Using biblical passages, the
class will reflect and meditate on how the Divine draws us into conversation
with all Creation.
LENTEN BOOK STUDY
During the Season of Lent
(February 22-March 29) the adult Sunday School classes will combine for a book
study of Richard Rohr’s newest book, The Tears of Things: Prophetic Wisdom
for an Age of Outrage. In it, Rohr
explores the ancient texts of the prophets as a guide for us today. To read more about the book, visit: The Tears of Things –
CAC Bookstore. Matt Isenhower will
lead the study.
McGregor will purchase the
books for participants but ask that the participants contribute $10 toward the
cost. If you want to attend and purchase
the book, contact Christina Isenhower at christina.isenhower@gmail.com
or text 864/554-6529 by February 8.
Nursery and Children’s Worship are available

SOUPER BOWL OF CARING
McGregor will celebrate the Souper Bowl of Caring this Sunday,
February 8 with an offering of financial gifts and cans of chicken
noodle soup, as well as a Soup and Salad Potluck after the worship
service!
The Souper Bowl of Caring is an opportunity to fight food insecurity through local hunger relief efforts. This year our Souper Bowl of Caring donations will go to our McGregor Snack Packs Program that provides food for the weekend for five local School District 5 schools. We invite you to donate financially and with cans of chicken noodle soup. You may also donate online at www.mcgpres.org.
You can cheer on your favorite Super Bowl Team (Seattle Seahawks or New
England Patriots). At the close of the worship service, there will be
soup pots labeled either Seahawks or Patriots. Simply place your
donations in the soup pot with the name of the team you hope will win
the Super Bowl. And place your cans of chicken noodle soup in either
the Seahawks or Patriots plastic bin, located in the narthex, to cheer
your team on to victory!
Following the worship service, we will enjoy a Soup and Salad Potluck in Glenn Hall. Please bring your favorite soup and/or salad dish to share. Drinks and paper products will be provided.
