ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS BOOK STUDY

January 26-March 2 at 9:30 AM


Starting Sunday, January 26, the Adult Sunday School Classes will combine for a book study on How to Have an Enemy:  Righteous Anger and the Work of Peace by Melissa Florer-Bixler.  Christina Isenhower will facilitate the study.  If you want to participate in this book study and purchase a book ($10), please get in touch with Christina Isenhower.


 Nursery and Children’s Worship are available

during Sunday School and the Worship Service.

NEW COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS

Dementia 101, the Basics:  Tuesday, January 21 at 6:30 PM

Dementia 201, Positive Interactions:  Tuesday, January 28 at 6:30 PM

Presenter:  Tori Anderson, Certified Dementia Practitioner

and Dementia Care Specialist with the SC Dept. on Aging


There is no admission fee for the Community Workshops, but preregistration is required.  Register at mcgpresadm@gmail.com and indicate which workshop(s) you will attend.
The Dementia 101 Workshop will provide a general introduction to dementia with topics including dementia types, stages, warning signs, risk factors, navigating a diagnosis, current treatments, care planning, and support resources available.
The Dementia 201 Workshop will provide practical communication and problem-solving strategies to support meaningful relationships through a dementia diagnosis.


ATTENTION ALL CHILI ENTHUSIASTS
Irmo Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, January 25, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Moore Park (formally Irmo Community Park) 7507 Eastview Drive, Irmo, SC

This event is your chance to showcase your chili-making skills while supporting a great cause.  Proceeds will benefit McGregor Presbyterian Church’s Snack Packs Program, which provides food to local students in need.

Chili Lovers:  Swing by Moore Park on Saturday, January 25 at 11:00 AM to sample a variety of delicious chilies and cheer on the competitors.  There will be vendors, food, and fun for the entire family!
