  • ADVOCACY 101 TRAINING

Monday, October 27, at 6:00 PM, in McGregor Hall

The Advocacy Team met in September for its first meeting and discussed the steps and actions that the team can take for individual and group advocacy.  The primary issues that this group wants to explore include LGBTQ+, climate justice, and gun violence.

One of the team’s first actions is to host Advocacy 101 Training, provided by Aisha Jones, WREN (Women's Rights and Empowerment Network)'s Partnership & Engagement Associate.  The Advocacy 101 Training equips attendees with the knowledge, skills, and action-oriented tools to create real impact at every policymaking level.  This training is only open to the McGregor congregation.  Right now, we are not inviting community members.  If you plan to attend, RSVP to Christina Isenhower at christina.isenhower@gmail.com

  • THIS IS US!

The Education and Congregational Care Committees are excited to announce a new feature for our weekly E-Messenger which is designed to help us get to know each other better!  Each week, beginning in October,  we will highlight one individual/family and give a little information about them that you may not already know.  Contact Jayne Woodward or Robin Moseley for the information form, which asks a few questions for you to answer about yourselves.  Then you can email the form back to mcgpresadm@gmail.com or print it out and leave it in the church office.  We will write the article using the information you provide.  A copy of the article will be sent to you for approval before it is included in the newsletter.  Questions?  Contact Jayne Woodward (803) 730-5072, minniewoodward@aol.com or Robin Moseley (803) 730-7780, robin1030@bellsouth.net
