Caring for the McGregor faith community

We are committed to caring for and nurturing each other at McGregor Presbyterian Church. Recognizing that health and well-being involve more than just our physical bodies, our Congregational Care ministry intentionally ministers to the whole person: body, mind, and soul. We minister to McGregor disciples and visitors of all ages and provide support for people in the midst of challenging life events and transitions.

The Congregational Care team is a group of disciples in our church who foster relationships in our faith community and respond to each other in times of need. If you are interested in serving as part of this ministry team, contact committee chairwoman Mary Jarrells at XXX.

The team's ministry opportunities include the following:

  • meal team

We provide meals for families in times of need, such as hospitalizations, illnesses, crises, and transitions.

  • visitor team

We welcome visitors and provide opportunities to learn about our faith community. We forge personal relationships with new disciples and help them to identify aspects of our church life where they can find meaning.

  • intercessory prayer team

We pray for the needs of our congregation and receive confidential prayer requests from across our faith community. We believe in actively seeking God's healing and peace through communal prayer.

To make a confidential prayer request, you may reach out to any of our prayer team members (led by Jane Tyer) or send an email to prayers@mcgpres.org.

  • card ministry

We send cards from the congregation offering congratulations, consolation, or support.

  • prayer shawl ministry

We knit or crochet prayer shawls that are intentionally blessed and given to disciples going through a difficult time.

  • stephen ministry

We offer high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting. We meet one on one to provide support. Our Stephen Ministers undergo thorough training to serve on this team.
